Stop Violence Against Women
Imagine Life Without Violence is our ongoing effort to raise awareness about the trafficking of women and girls. We put on programs and provide program funding to other local organizations who are also encouraging citizens, law makers and service providers to focus on this global problem.
Apply for a Program Grant
Grants are awarded annually in $250 increments ranging from $250 to $2,500. The number of awards given will be based on requested amounts, number of eligible projects and available funds.
Project Ideas
- Assisting a local shelter with their domestic violence programs
- Open discussions on types of abuse, violence, harassment, and bullying
- Classes for professionals/businesses – trainings and material distribution about workplace harassment/bullying
- Community “kids days” – hosting a table which uses kid friendly ways to help children recognize or report incidents of violence/harassment/bullying
- Creating community workshops that engage men and boys, teens, and/or LGBTQ communities regarding anti- violence programs.
- Partnering with other community organizations
- Partnering with the Dream It Be It program to increase awareness
Our Impact
- Free trafficking awareness workshops
- Providing furniture for a children’s play area in the Safe House
- Asssembling supply kits for women who are being sheltered in motels when the shelter is too crowded
- Participating in annual Student Safety Summits with the local high school and community members
